The MUCOP is the name that was given to the Spring School 2015 of the Latin American Campus of Sciences Po Paris, in Poitiers. It is an obligation for the student from the campus if they wish to validate their year that has the purpose to raise awareness about a great variety of themes through a simulation of diplomatic negotiations.

Although the previous edition, realized jointly with the SEGIB (Secretaria General Iberoamérica) which focused on the themes of youth and development in Latin America, was purely centered around the negotiations, the 2015 edition is much more ambitious. The new team in charge of the organized, composed solely by students, has decided to anchor the Spring School in the continuity of the climate conferences held through 2014 and 2015 (Lima, COP21…). Because of our association with the UNESCO, we hope the projet will beneficiate from more exposure at all levels, in Poitiers, in France but also internationally.

MUCOP21, a tradition with growing ambitions

This year, in addition to the negotiations, during the Spring School week will be included a section “Cambio ambiental y sociedad”, made out of cultural events (a concert, exhibits…) as well as an international symposium. Researchers, politicians as well as artistes will be invited to participate to this event, which will take place from March 23rd to March 27th 2015.

We can already confirm the Acme’s presence; he is a Brazilian street artist known worldwide. One of the highlights of the week: he will be given the opportunity to be remembered in Poitiers, offering us a graffiti on the city’s walls. Other international artists are to be present, in particular for the concert on Friday 27th.

Moreover, it has been decided that this year, the MUCOP will be open to other students’ participation; it does not really matter where they come from the goal being to create a wide student’s network. The event will welcome about 250 students
